Photography exhibition cum workshop in Patkai

 

Patkai, April 3 (MExN): The Department of Multimedia & Mass Communication, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous) organised the second photography exhibition at the college’s Administrative Block on April 3. 

With the theme ‘Nature and Its Forms’, the photo exhibition was inaugurated by AG Samuel, Dean of Social Sciences, PCC. Lauding the students for coming up with the exhibition, he noted that the photos were their contribution towards ‘social engineering.’

“They say 'pictures say a thousand words' and you are leaving a lasting legacy with your photos which will adorn walls of homes and offices for years to come,” he added.

A photography workshop was also organised with wildlife photographer Onenjungshi Ao as the resource person.  Ao highlighted on the different technical aspects of photography and also shared experiences from the field.  Among other aspects, he stressed on the importance of patience and said that it had taken him days, even years, to click the photo he had wanted.

The exhibition was organised and curated by the second year and third year students of the Department of Multimedia & Mass Communication in partial fulfilment of their course curriculum.

Based on the theme, the students exhibited various over 58 photos dealing with various aspects of nature and among others, highlighted its perseverance, renewal, luminousness, relationship with humans and life lessons, among others. 

PCC Mass Communication in a press release stated that most of the photos displayed at the exhibition, constructed in the form of a botanical garden, were bought by patrons and visitors by the end of the event. Out of 58 photos, 53 were sold on the day.
