The Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh’s concern for the Naga political issue was highlighted today when he asked for the opinion of Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla on the Naga issue, in New Delhi today.
Sources informed Newmai News Network this evening in Aizawl that Dr. Manmohan Singh had asked the opinion of Lal Thanhawla on the Naga issue. It is not clear how the Mizoram chief minister exactly responded, but sources added that the latter was of the opinion that the Naga issue should be resolved at the earliest.
The Prime Minister, in due course of discussion on various issues with Lal Thanhawla, this morning, had brought up the Naga issue. The Mizoram chief minister also told the Prime Minister in today’s meeting the need to bring an amicable solution with Kuki militant groups. However, it is not vivid what the Prime Minister expressed on the Kuki issue.
