PMGKAY benefits 3,08,284 households in Nagaland

Dimapur, April 9 (MExN): The celebration of ‘Anna Yojana & Public Distribution System’ under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was held at Office of the Assistant Director, of Supply, Dimapur.

A press release stated that Director, F&CS, V Lovitoly Sema in a brief report on PMGKAY stated that the PMGKAY Phase -I to Phase-V has been implemented in the State of Nagaland and has benefitted 3,08,284 households, covering a population of 14,03,579 under NFSA by the Department of Food & Civil Supplies, through a network of 1679 Fair Price Shops in the State. Further, PMGKAY Phase-VI has been flagged off on April 7 from FCI Depot, Dimapur, for distribution to the targeted beneficiaries. 

The special guests, DC Dimapur Rajesh Soundararajan IAS expressed the positive impact of PMGKAY scheme in the State on NFSA beneficiaries during the COVID-19 Pandemic and further expressed his gratitude and appreciated for the successful implementation of the said Scheme. F&CS department have a very important/paramount role in ensuring access to food for all, he added. 

The DC released the PMGKAY Brochure compiled by the Department of F&CS, in the presence of Director (F&CS), Deputy Director –I(F&CS); Deputy Director-II (F&CS), Assistant Director of Supply (R&D), Divisional Manager(FCI), and staff of Directorate including MIS and R&D branch.
