MOKOKCHUNG, SEPTEMBER 27 (MExN): The culmination programme of the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana- Watershed Development Component (PMKSY-WDC) under Mokokchung District was held on September 27 at Town Hall, Mokokchung. The programme was organized by the Department of Land Resources, Mokokchund.
Addressing the gathering as the special guest, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, ShashankPratap Singh, IAS, said that the PMKSY ensures convergence with all assets/infrastructure based programmes related to water conservation and management. He said, among the many schemes, Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) is most important because it simply does not deal with water alone, but it covers all the aspects of farming for the main objective of IWMP is to restore ecological balance by harnessing, conserving and developing degraded natural resources.
The ADC while appreciating the Department for their tireless effort and commitment towards implementing the programme, also asked the farmers to take advantage by taking proper care of whatever the department is providing. He asked the farmers to be practical so as to carry on with the programmes.
