Dimapur, March 11 (MExN): While stating gratitude to the concern department for the upgradation and inauguration of Higher Secondary School at Aghunato on February 3, 2011 K. Ghokheto Yepthomi, president, 34 ACCC Aghunato through a press note said that the event is also one of the “mournful days” in the development and political history of Aghuhnato constituency.
Citing ‘certain negative aspects’ related to Higher Secondary School, the president of 34 ACCC Aghunato, through the note stated that political motivation has duped the people of Aghunato Constituency by shifting of DIET centre in lieu of Higher Secondary School, as huge amount, more than 90, 0000 (ninety lacs) have been invested while carrying out the construction of DIET centre and the land damage caused during construction is irreparable and has hurt the sentiments of the landowners.
“The manner of disguise and exchange policy adopted by the political leaders reflects insult and shame to the common people of Aghunato area. Even a Cobbler, apprehends the criteria that the H.S.S can be instituted, provided students’ ratio are fulfilled. The people of Aghunato constituency are now under the spell-bound of the victim of deception. We are all bonafide citizens and we have every right to get both DIET Centre and H.S.S. it is therefore, shifting of DIET centre from Aghunato has created precedence and such design of discrimination should eliminate in near future,” he stated in the note.
Also referring to the news that was published in The Morung Express on February 5, 2011 under the caption “Education crisis for Aghunato”, the president of 34 ACCC Aghunato cited the reference to “pathetic road,” and said that he personally feels that there is neither pathetic roads nor deplorable roads under Aghunato Constituency. “All the villagers under Aghunato are well connected by village approach road, village link road as well as PWD road. The main road leading from Zunheboto to Aghunato are maintaining comfortably by GS (general staff road). All these road connectivity have been done and taken up by during the regime of a dynamic leader- Tokheho Yeothomi, present MLA and CLP leader, Nagaland,” he stated. “It is rather to say that Aghunato has the better road connectivity than any other Constituency under Zunheboto district. It seems the person concerned who referred the pathetic road condition of Aghunato, has not seen Aghunato, but might have seen it in his dream,” he stated in the note.
