Police personnel honoured at Kiphire

The District Executive Force in Kiphire observed Police Commemoration Day with officers, Jawnas, civil societies, school students and well-wishers at the Police Complex, Kiphire on October 21.  

SP Ben Longkumer speaking at the event said, “We celebrate this day every year for the brave sacrifice of the martyr who laid their life for the country, upholding the honour of the army discipline. Today our reputation as a police has come down because of our indiscipline conduct.”  

He called upon everyone in the profession to be committed as this is service to God and the people.  

The SP asked the jawnas to maintain discipline and uplift the status of the police by working for good and also shared on the history of the day. He read out the names of 370 jawans who have made a brave sacrifice and laid their life for the country.  

Later, he laid the wreath which was followed by rank and file in the department which was also followed be the guest and invitees present.
