Police recovers vehicle in Assam  after being stolen from Longleng 

Two suspects arrested; drivers still absconding 

Longleng, September 16 (MExN): Two days after a tata dumper went missing along with two drivers; Longleng Police received a written complaint from G Raghavendra BM of Kasheerabad Construction Private Limited, Changtongya to Longleng on September 12.

According to a DIPR report, the tata dumper along with drivers namely Assanath Rabha and Taiber Beg went missing on September 10 while being dispatched to Tuli for collection of construction materials. 

The mobile phones of the drivers were switched off and the readings of GPS indicated probable location within Dimapur area. On receiving the information necessary GDE was made at the Police Station, Longleng and sources were immediately activated and an instant message was sent up to DCP Zone-II Dimapur to assist in the inquiry. Cyber Unit Dimapur was informed to track the location of the missing drivers; at about 4:45 pm the latest GPS location of the missing truck was tracked in the adjoining area of Ashok Fuel Station, Khatkhati, Assam, the DIPR report stated. 

In this regard, special operation team of Dimapur Police was requisitioned through Munesh Payal, IPS DCP-II and in the meantime, ASI Limatemjen of Longleng Police along with UBC Purnungsang was immediately dispatched to Dimapur. At about 7:00 pm the missing truck was located and recovered and two suspected persons identified as MD Atar Ali (23) and MD Moidul Islam (29) were arrested. However, the two drivers are still absconding.

 In another case, at around 9:00 am on September 12, the SOT of DEF Longleng intercepted one Santro car B/R No. AS 03D 9292 near Tangha village and recovered around 68 bottles of 750 ml MC Rum from the vehicle. The occupants, Edui Ali and Rosan Phukan were arrested and a case under section 44 NLTP Act was register at Longleng Police station.
