Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhütso MLA, Kohima Town A/C today asked citizens and students to grow up with the mentality of what one can contribute to the society not what we can get from the government in order to make the society a better place.
He was addressing a gathering of student volunteers, youths and police personnel during a cleanliness drive initiated under the KAM Phase II cleanliness drive in Kohima at PHQ Junction.
The MLA encouraged the participant to keep the city clean and acknowledged the participation of students from educational institutions/colleges, as it was where they could inculcate good habits and teach the young minds.
Dr Rhütso maintained that the drive should not end here but should continue every month and called upon the institutions to take the initiative every month. He said in the coming months, such cleanliness drive will be organized in other areas along with educational institutions and groups.
As part of the second edition of the KAM cleanliness drive, Nagaland ADGP Sandeep M Tamgadge, opined that we should keep Kohima clean as it is the mirror of the state. Tamgadge said the mission to keep the country clean has also seen its success through the Swaatch Bharat Mission which is being organized all over the country. He highlighted on fostering a way of living to keep the environment clean to the citizens.
Police personnel, students from Ministers Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School and Dainty Buds School along with NPP Jail Colony youth supporters took part in the cleanliness drive which covered BOC, PR Hill, Radio station areas among others. Solo cyclist, 24year old Aasha Malviya also joined the KAM cleanliness drive.
