Policeman stripped for removing black flag

Morung Express News
Mon | March 3

An Assistant Sub Inspector attached to the Tizit Police Station, identified as Talitemjen, was today apprehended, brought to the office of the Konyak Union at Mon and stripped of his clothing for removing a flag from a vehicle on the date when ‘Black Day’ was being observed under the aegis of the ENPO and the KU.

The policeman, reportedly in an intoxicated state, removed the black flag from a vehicle where members of the Konyak Students’ Union were seated, despite protests. After the SP of Mon was informed of the development, Talitemjen was arrested from Tizit and brought to the KU office at Mon, where he is lodged at the time of filing this report.

An irate mob is demanding termination of services and also that he “be hanged.” Some say Talitemjen is under favour of the NSCN (I-M)

However, the ASI has not been manhandled as yet. The SP, SDO (C) and public leaders are also at the KU office.
