Dimapur, October 29 (MExN): The Central institute of Horticulture (CIH), Medziphema in collaboration with Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) conducted one-day training on October 28. The training which was on the topic ‘awareness programme on scope and importance of bees, beekeeping and honey’ was held at Pongo village under Sakshi block of Longleng district.
Altogether 50 numbers of trainees participated in the training, according to a press release from NBHM Team Member, Mhathung T Tsopoe.
The inaugural programme was followed by a technical session with hands on demonstrations on scientific beekeeping and management. Three officials from Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission, namely, C Francis Kikon, Phem Khmn and Mhathung T Tsopoe were deputed as a resource persons in the event, the release stated.
There was an interaction session during the course of training and after the training session, each participant was given ISI B Type bee boxes, swarm bags and bee veils. Pongo Village Council Chairperson gave the concluding remarks and positive feedbacks of the training, according to the press release.
