The women wing of Porbami Social Club Kohima today celebrated the 3rd Khukhu Nyie at Naga Heritage Village Kisama near Kohima.

Cüsayi Lohe said that Khukhu festival is celebrated to honour young unmarried damsels. On this day damsels used to play traditional games and spend their time in merry-making. Delicacies are prepared especially for them to enjoy.

Shetalü Kotso, Subject Matter Specialist (SMS), Agriculture Department spoke on the occasion as the special guest.
The programme was chaired by Niesahülü Tureng while vote of thanks was proposed by Zhovelü Dzüdo.

The festival was marked by indigenous songs and traditional games. The festival concluded with the Khukhu feast.
