Participants of the Poshan Maah programme for adolescent girls which was held in Dimapur on September 11.
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 11 (MExN): Continuing with the Poshan Maah September 2020, a programme on adolescent girls was held on September 11 at Ikishe Council hall organized by the office of the Child Development Project Officer (Rural) Dimapur.
Adolescent girls from the age 10 to 17 attended the programme. Project Senior Supervisor, Toto Sema gave a brief introduction on the objectives of Poshan Maah and the importance of nutrition, hygiene and handwashing.
Imsutola, Dietician from Eden Hospital, who was invited as the resource person had an interaction with the participants on anemia among adolescent girls and the importance of consuming iron tablets; health & nutrition; the importance of proper diet and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle; and the right age of marriage for girls and the effects of teenage pregnancy were discussed.
Supervisors, Hekali Yepthomi, Rongsentula Pongen, Akumlila Yaden and Poshan Block Assistant, Hesheka Ayemi organized and distributed hampers to the adolescent girls. Anganwadi workers and helpers of Ikishe also attended the programme.
