
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 20 (MExN): The Postal Department, North East Region-II is holding a Maha Mela with effect from February 20 to 24 for awareness on post office saving schemes in all the post offices in Nagaland and Manipur.
On the occasion, all the post office staff will create awareness about the various saving scheme available in post offices for enrolling the interested individual for their benefits, a press release from the Postmaster General stated. The Postal Department appealed to the public to come to the post office and open account for various schemes which will be beneficial to them, as the Government of India has recently hiked interest rates in various Post Office schemes.
The Maha Mela is organised to inculcate good saving habits for the people and improve their financial security in their times of needs. Not only postal savings schemes like saving banks accounts, recurring deposits, monthly income scheme, Public Provident Fund, Time Deposits etc. are available but also insurance schemes like Postal Life Insurance/Rural Postal Life Insurance can be availed.
