Power supply to Kiphire, Phek affected

Kohima, November 4 (MExN):  Due to a line fault in the 66 kV Tuensang-Kiphire Transmission line on November 4, the power supply to Kiphire and Phek Districts, including the power generation of Likimro HEP, has been affected. The Executive Engineer of the Transmission Division in Kohima has informed that the 66 kV was being used as a temporary feeder as  the main 132 kV Kohima-Meluri-Kiphire Transmission line was also damaged by a landslide during the road expansion work conducted by NHIDCL near Losami village in Phek District in September.

The damage is yet to be restored. While all efforts are being made to restore the 66 kV Transmission line at the earliest, the Department has requested that consumers bear with the inconvenience caused.
