Power workers suspend stir

Dimapur, September 23 (MExN): Field workers of the Power department have decided to defer their agitations after the department of Power requested for ‘sufficient time to complete all formalities.’ A letter addressed to the Commissioner & Secretary for Power from the All Nagaland Electricity Field Workers Association (ANEFWA) said a period of 15 days is given to the government. The ANEFWA took the decision September 21. The association cautioned that the deferment of the agitations “should not be construed as surrendering our rights.” “It is made clear that if our demands as contained in our ultimatum are not met within the period of deferment, we will commence to agitate against the government from October 1 at any cost and without compromise whatsoever,” the association said.
