Longleng, June 3 (MExN): Phom Peoples Council (PPC) has made an appeal to the Government of Nagaland and the department concerned for immediate implementation of the proposed Foothill road. PPC president, H Leisha Phom and general secretary, L Chimgdam Mükho, in support of the foothill road stated that the proposed road is very important for the entire people of Nagaland, particularly Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon and Longleng districts. “The Government, being the guardian of the people, is appealed to give top priority to the matter to build confidence in the mind of the people.” Meanwhile, the PPC strongly condemned the incident where “some innocent Nagas were humiliated at Mariani by a group of Assamese, lead by its area MLA”, adding, “The Assam Government must give befitting punishment to culprits at the earliest.”
