Preparation for CKHSS golden jubilee underway

Hectic preparations for the golden jubilee celebration of Christ King Higher Secondary School, Kohima village will take place on October 10.
Kohima, October 8 (MExN): The main celebration of the golden jubilee of Christ King Higher Secondary School, Kohima village will take place on October 10 at 10:00 AM.
The school authorities led by principal Fr Lonuo Linus and CKHSS Alumni Association president Neilhouvolie Mechülho along with various committees have been engaged in beautifying the school ground and also erection of monolith.
Christ King HSS Kohima is the first Catholic missionary school started by the Salesians of Don Bosco in Nagaland in February 1969 with a few students in the P. Khel of Kohima village. It was started by Rev Fr Tarcisius Resto, SDB. The aim was to provide high quality education to the children of Kohima and the surrounding villages.
Minister for Higher and Technical Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along will grace the main celebration as the special guest while Bishop of Kohima Diocese Rt. Rev. Dr James Thoppil, DD and Vice-provincial Salesian Province of Dimapur, Rev Fr Nazarius Lakra will be the guest of honours of the occasion.
During the programme, Rector of the school Fr. Paul Punü will deliver the welcome address while Wennyei Konyak and (1992 batch) and Lydia Yeptho (1993 batch) will share reminiscing the golden past.
CKHSS principal Fr Lonuo Linus will deliver vote of thanks.
The occasion will also be marked by unveiling jubilee monolith, release of souvenir, special presentations and special awards to rank holders and teachers.
Meanwhile, the school authority and CKHSS Alumni Association requested all the past pupils of the school and also well-wishers to be part of the celebration.
