NSF monolith committee under preparation for the forthcoming 25th general conference to be held from April 24 to 17 at Dimapur.
Dimapur, April 17 (MExN): With thousands of delegates expected to attend the 25th General Conference of the Naga Students Federation (NSF), preparations are underway to make the conference a success. Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU), a conglomerate of 12 Naga tribal students’ organization based in Dimapur will be hosting the conference to be held from April 24 to 27 at Agri Expo Site Dimapur. The conference will be held under the theme “Embracing Common Vision.”
A press release issued by the 25th NSF general conference 2013 Media Committee said that the conference will see a host of former leaders of NSF and other student bodies as chief guests and guests of honour. During the introductory session on April 24, Er. Levi Rengma MLA will be the introductory guest. Lok Sabha MP and Minister School Education, CM Chang will be the chief guest for the inaugural session on April 25 while L. Dikho MLA Manipur will be the special guest. Other dignitaries of the conference include Prof B K Konwar, Vice-Chancellor, Nagaland University; Vikheho Swu (Former President NSF) Parliamentary Secretary, Nagaland and Alemtemshi Jamir (IAS) Chief Secretary, Government of Nagaland. There will be a special interactive session on April 25 and the resource person will be Aküm Longchari, Editor, The Morung Express.
A debating hour with a relevant topic in the context of the Naga society will see participation from all federating units. The topic is “The Naga land holding system is a hindrance to development.” Election for the new office bearers of NSF 2013-15 will be held on April 26. A special attraction during the conference will be DNSUvaganza at the closing ceremony.
The NSF makes a fervent appeal to the citizens of Dimapur, state government, district administration and police, NGOs and all concerned for their co-operation and support towards the success of the general conference.
