‘Protect Dimapur COVID-19’ launches second phase

Dimapur, September 11 (MExN): Initiated by several Dimapur-based NGOs under the name ‘Protect Dimapur COVID-19’ launched its second phase at DC's Conference Hall in the presence of DC, ADC and CMO Dimapur on September 11.

Addressing the gathering, a DIPR report stated that the DC Dimapur Rajesh Soundararajan acknowledged the team for their voluntary service helping out in different ways during the pandemic. He stated that the cases have come down because of collective efforts and at the present situation enforcement of SOPs is much needed. He requested the volunteers to carry out the assigned work in more professional and in a polite manner. 

Convenor of the campaign, Lotha Baptist church Dimapur, Pastor, Yanbemo Ovung, while addressing the volunteers, informed that the campaign would be carried out on alternative days for two weeks starting from September 14. He maintained that the campaign is to enforce the SOPs to public, shops and vendors in market places in and around Dimapur.

Committee ensures compliance to COVID-19 safety protocols
Under the initiative of Dimapur District Administration, committees were constituted for ensuring compliance to COVID 19 directives and safety protocols under Dimapur district. 

The committee members on September 11 covered the stretch from Church Road to GS road creating awareness amongst the masses and shopkeepers on the safety protocols to be followed. 

Meanwhile defaulters were penalised and challaned. Committee members comprised of administrative officers, representative from Commissioner Police office, DMC, DCCI and volunteers from respective area/ colony, business union.
