Imphal: Seeing no initiative to develop an approach road by the Manipur state government, protestors blocked Nongthonban road, which lead to Sekmai Gas Bottling Plant. The Sekmai Nongthonban Youth Club while interacting with media team today, maintained that it will not talk with the government unless the latter takes up the repair and construction of the road.
The club disclosed that the Consumer Affairs and Food Distribution minister, M. Okendro had on April 12 had made verbal assurances by signing an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction works to be done by April 19.
"Not being able to meet the deadline, the minister was issued a reminder again on April 26 for the completion of the road construction by May 2 to which the minister and authorities have not responded again", stated the Sekmai Nongthonban Youth Club.
The blocking of the Sekmai Nongthonban road was also joined by Tispari Roshan Youth Club.
