PSU backs CSU's demands for timely completion of NH-29

Dimapur, October 2 (MExN): The Phüsachodümi Students' Union (PSU) has extended its strong solidarity and unwavering support to the Chakhesang Students' Union (CSU) in its collective efforts to safeguard the welfare, rights, and legitimate interests of the people.

In an official release issued on October 1, the student body noted with serious concern the prolonged difficulties associated with NH-29 (Kohima–Jessami Road), particularly Package-II. The union stated that persistent delays, deteriorating road conditions, inconvenience, and consequent economic and social hardships have placed a considerable burden on the public for far too long.

Emphasizing that NH-29 serves as a vital lifeline for several districts and communities, the PSU highlighted that Package-II is of particular importance to villages and residents who depend on the route for essential connectivity, transportation, education, healthcare, trade, and other day-to-day necessities. The continued difficulties along this stretch affect not merely road users, but the broader social and economic life of the communities connected by it.

Reiterating its stance, the PSU affirmed that it stands shoulder to shoulder with the CSU in its peaceful and democratic pursuit of accountability, justice, and a timely resolution to the issues surrounding NH-29 Package-II.

The union assured the CSU of its full cooperation and support, remaining ready to extend every possible assistance in all lawful and constructive efforts undertaken in the larger interest of the people.

The PSU expressed hope that the concerns raised by the CSU will be addressed with the seriousness and urgency they deserve, ensuring necessary measures are taken for the proper and timely completion of the project.
