DIMAPUR, JUNE 17 (MExN): The Konyak Union Myanmar (KUM) has appreciated the NSCN –K (Yung Aung) CHQ and GHQ for heeding to the appeal of the public to maintain peace and exercising restraint.
At the same time, it fervently appealed the group to maintain the peaceful atmosphere within the government and the public places and said the public will not be support any side until they resolve their issue and become one.
Stating this, a press release received from KUM president, PM Aman and general secretary, K Akham Honwang said the innocent public is facing the brunt of the internal conflict in the NSCN-K (YA) and has created fear psychosis among the villagers. Even the Indian and Myanmar army have ceased operation in public places as they felt pity for the public, it however lamented that the Naga National workers, instead of protecting the public from external forces, were fighting amongst themselves.
The KUM has therefore appealed all the National workers to live in their designated place and not in public jurisdiction in order to avoid giving tension to the innocent villagers.
