DIMAPUR, MAR 1 (MExN): The GBs of Pungro Sub-Division in response to the deadline given by the Kiphire GBs association clarified that Kiphire district consisted of Sangtam, Sumi and Yimchungers and therefore accordingly a District GBs Association was set up to bring peace and harmony as well as to practice customary laws. “But a demand to state government is a self-style and unofficial since it was not represented by GBs of Pungro Sub-division”, stated JB Shahoto General Secretary GBs Union, Pungro sub-division.
Pointing out that a meeting of all Head GBs of Kiphire District was called on February 26 at Kiphire HQ, but surprisingly pamphlets for Road blockade between Kiphire-Pungro was pasted at Kiphire Town on February 24 by the GBs of Kiphire without consent of all GBs for which Head GBs of Pungro Sub-division could not attend the meeting since the blockade was effected from February 25. Instead of initiating to bring peace within the district such kind of demands would rather bring or invite a bad situation between the conflicting parties, the statement pointed out. As such, all decisions/deadline served basing on the February 26 meeting should be treated as unofficial. “And out of this if any untoward consequences arises hereafter the signatories will be held sole responsible”, the GBs of Pungro Sub-division stated.
