DIMAPUR, FEB 20 (MExN): In response to Pungro Area Public Forum (PAPF) refuting the allegation that NSCN (IM) cadres were involved in the family massacre at Pungro recently, TC Shisham, the youngest son of Late Throngtsangki, Head GB of Zanger Village, sought to provide more clarification to the event in which he was physically present.
He stated that on the fateful day when the DB court was captured by “the accused-Lamthura (UDA) family’s angry mob” Shisham had been physically present and with his own eyes witnesses,” Tsulimthong and Alo, both cadres of NSCN (IM). He stated that the two cadres were “in the main front with their sophisticated weapons” along with one Joyba who had with him the pistol of his father, Yamuli, Leacy of NSCN(IM). They then kidnapped Late Ningtsamong from the court premises.
Shisham further went on to state that Tsepanki, President and Tsentsumong General Secretary of the PAPF, who had termed the allegation issued by TC Tajingki, eldest son of Throngtsangki Head GB, about the involvement of two NSCN cadres in the killing “as baseless and fabricated” on February 15, 2007, would be held solely responsible as the cadres were being ‘calmly hidden’ somewhere in Dimapur town.
Also, in a separate press note, the GBs’ Association of Kiphire district strongly condemned the killing of the chief of Zanger Village along with his six family members on February 8. The association termed it as “satanic work”. The release issued by the president of the GBs’ association, Yangkimong, stated that after kidnapping the victims in the presence of the DBs of Pungro town, instead of settling the case amicably, the armed mob along with the two NSCN members, Tsulemthong and Alo Yimchunger, murdered the Head GB of Zanger village and 6 of his family members.
In this regard the GBs of Kiphire district questioned the higher authority as to what Throngtsangki, Head GB of Zanger village had done “that he has being targeted” and further went on to asked why the Head GB along with his six of his family members were killed with the involvement of NSCN-IM cadres when all the GBs gave their full cooperation to all factions. The GB association also appealed to the higher authority of the NSCN-IM to inquire and award punishment befitting to the act they had committed. The association stated that full evidence of the involvement of the two cadres in the killing are available in the form of the four persons who had miraculously escape from death at the hands of the mob that attacked the DBs court on of February 8, 2007 at Pungro .
