PWUK clarifies on alleged culprit

Kohima, October 11 (MExN): The office of Phuhgimi Welfare Union, Kohima (PWUK) today clarified that Vekhota Sapu from Phuhgimi village is an ex-communicated person “whose relationship with either family members or the village community stands void.”

His involvement in criminal activities have been circulating in various social medias that has brought shame to the entire community in general, stated  a press release from PWUK Chairman, Mudovoi Sapu.

“Sapu is a habitual thief and offender of laws for which he was also jailed several times.”

The said absconding culprit is a wanted criminal who was already ex-communicated both in the village and in Kohima for his crimes even in the past, the release added.

With the consent of his relatives, the Phuhgimi Village Youth Department had issued warrant to take any action against the criminal activities last month.

Still absconding, it was learnt again that he has been allegedly abducting taxi drivers and looting them in the state capital.

Despite efforts to correct him by family members and local organizations, it was futile, the release added.

Hence, the union “shall in no way hold responsible for any of his action even in the days to come.”

It further clarified that the union would appreciate any person/authority to take any action against the “said culprit as deemed fit once he is apprehended.”
