PYO bans hunting, to promote eco-tourism

Kohima, March 14 (MExN): The Phesama Youth Organisation (PYO) in compliance with the direction of the Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) to ban hunting of wildlife and to promote eco-tourism, stood in affirmation and endorse the decision of the SAYO and declared that any individuals or group who violates the laid rules under the jurisdiction of the Phesama village, shall be penalized with a fine of Rs 30,000.

Meanwhile, the PYO also informed the general public that, collection of firewood and vegetation, dumping of loose soil/mud, dumping of garbage, hospital waste into the rivers/streams under the jurisdiction of Phesama village is totally prohibited.

It also declared that defaulters of the above mentioned activities shall be penalized with Rs 20,000.

Meanwhile, PYO requested the general public to stay vigilant of such unwanted activities and report to PYO officials for the collective preservation of the environment keeping in mind the climate changes faced over the past few years and also challenged everyone to be ambassadors towards environmental protection.
