Dimapur, December 15 (MExN): The “GPRN/NSCN” has stated that it had no option left but to ask the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR), the Naga Hoho, DBs & GBs’ forum, the NPMHR, NMA, ENPO, NSF and other concerned Naga civil societies and individuals whether there was ‘any good reason and hope’ left for “GPRN/NSCN” Naga Army ‘to stay indoors’. “Will the esteemed Naga organizations continue to demand restraint from ‘GPRN/NSCN’ and allow IM cadres to behave like wolves and hyenas pouncing on harmless creatures? How long can the ‘GPRN/NSCN’ cadres be asked to remain like sitting ducks?” stated a note issued by the outfit’s publicity cell.
Pointing out that “if the great hope of reconciliation and unity of the Nagas mandated by entire Nagas through the forum is destroyed before our very own eyes”, the “GPRN/NSCN” “along with all peace loving Nagas shall mourn its demise except for Hebron campers!” The statement from the publicity cell stated that the “intention of IM cadres has become all too clear to the Nagas”. Stating that a week after a “GPRN/NSCN” khapur Theja Kent Rengma of Tsosinyu village was murdered in the presence of his wife and children, another ambush on ‘unarmed ‘GPRN/NSCN’ cadres on 15th December 2008 at 12:30 P.M near Petrol station at 3rd Mile has followed. The publicity cell informed that the vehicle was riddled with bullets and it was providence that saved the occupants from certain death. “Sgt.” Aboto sustained a slight bullet injury ‘as bullets tore through his shirt and trousers’, it was informed. “It is not cowardice but utmost restraint in the face of fierce provocation that has forced the Naga army to not go on an offensive”.
It was also informed that the ‘GPRN/NSCN’, in its effort to rein in anti social elements, has arrested and detained Inovi Assumi, S.O in the NBI dept. and presently attached with M.I.P Kilonser Vikiye of Hebron Camp, for extorting and harassing Mobile Phone outlets in Dimapur, using and tarnishing the good image of ‘GPRN/NSCN’. “Such imposters shall not go unpunished”.
The Publicity Cell went on to state that the “IM must reconcile with itself with the fact that enforcing violence in Nagaland cannot make it the master over the Nagas”. “Reconciliation and Unity for them appears to be just a mirage. What has IM achieved by killing the Nagas since 1988? Nothing except pushing the Nagas into further agony”, it stated. The ‘GPRN/NSCN’ stated that its belief was that “violence within the Naga family must be considered as an outdated method employed only to fulfill selfish agendas” and that the “present unity and reconciliation process among the Nagas has hit a major obstacle owing to IM’s unholy assurances to the Nagas”.
“It has become similar to the problem of a snarling old dog wanting to keep all the bones to itself, threatening even its master for its predicament. This is the hour for all Nagas, organizations and individuals, to collectively rise above the murky waters of tribal politics and salvage the truth, the truth that Nagas cannot hide or falsify anymore: Unity and Reconciliation of Nagas is the key to solution of Indo-Naga Political Issue”.
