Dimapur, November 29 (MExN): The All Nagaland School Teachers Association (ANSTA) has requested the authority concerned to set up ‘Inquiry Committee’ to probe into the theft of question papers at Government High School Sovima, Dimapur and penalize whoever is found guilty as per the law.
According to a press release from ANSTA president, Ponchulo Wanth and general secretary, Visato Koso, the question papers were stolen “by breaking windows by some miscreants.”
Condemning the incident, ANSTA termed it very “unfortunate and unbecoming” as “it has created lot of problems/inconveniences for the students, teachers, parents and concerned offices of NBSE and SCERT respectively.” The Association meanwhile informed the teaching community that Science subject, exam for which was held on the first day will be taken as it is while for other subjects, exams will be held as per the new routine rescheduled by NBSE from November 30. In this regard, it requested the teachers involved in the exam to bear with the inconvenience.
It also informed the students not to panic as the situation is now under the control of NBSE, but study hard and come out with flying colors.
The Association hoped that NBSE will come out with some effective measures to check such cases of theft/leakage of confidential papers in the near future. “The preventive measures may be chalked out through the consultative meeting of the stakeholders,” it suggested, while lauding the swift action in cancelling the exam centre at the concerned GHS.
