Rains to continue over NE state

Dimapur, April 15 (MExN): Rainfall activity is expected to continue over the North East states during the next 24 to 48 hours, according to Skymet Weather.   Thereafter, rains will witness a reduction over the region. Due to this, temperatures will continue to settle on the lower side as rains will keep them under check, Skymet reported.   Nagaland along with other parts of North East including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura have been recording a good amount of rainfall for quite some time now. In fact, weather activity had remained rainy over the state for the past few days.   In a span of 24 hours from 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, North Lakhimpur saw 29 mm of rains, Pasighat witnessed 24 mm of rainfall, Dibrugarh 16 mm, Rangia 7 mm, Guwahati 8 mm, Cherrapunji 9 mm, and Agartala 8 mm.   These rains can be attributed to the presence of a Western Disturbance which is moving across the Tibet region. Along with this, an induced cyclonic circulation is also persisting over North Bangladesh and adjoining Assam region.
