Dimapur, February 6 (MExN): The Raj Bhavan, Kohima held a farewell programme at Ura Bhavan, Raj Bhavan in honour of the outgoing Commissioner and Secretary to Governor, Mhabemo Yanthan, who has been transferred as the Commissioner, Nagaland.

Chairing the programme on Monday, Joint Secretary to Governor, Mhomo Tungoe thanked the Commissioner & Secretary for the service rendered and for his efforts towards improving the functioning of the office.

According to a press release from the Raj Bhavan PRO, Section officer Jochule mentioned that Yanthan joined the Raj Bhavan as Commissioner & Secretary on September 2019, and served in that capacity till February 2023. She also mentioned that during his tenure, he had successfully guided and supported the entire team during the most difficult and challenging times of the pandemic.  

Incoming Commissioner & Secretary to Governor, Wezope Kenye congratulated Yanthan on his new assignments. He stated that the institution is all about teamwork, he also requested the officers and staff to follow the same path of coordination, and assured to give his best for the interest of the public.

Meanwhile, delivering his farewell speech, Yanthan, thanked the Almighty and the entire staff of the Raj Bhavan for the memorable tenure and added that this could happen only with the constant support and cooperation he received. 

He also mentioned that these achievements were made possible because of every official’s valuable service. He mentioned that during his tenure, he came across various opportunities, challenges, situations, and different individuals and it has been personally and professionally enriching.

He also encouraged the officers to continue with the same spirit of teamwork in the future and further expressed confidence that the leadership of the new Commissioner & Secretary would take them to new heights. 

Vote of thanks was proposed by Under secretary, Kevingozo Visa, short speeches were also delivered by ADC to Governor, Sqn Ldr Abhineet AK; PPS to Governor, Suresh Kumar; RP, JSO, Ngope; and JSO, Avizo.
