Dimapur, July 23 (MExN): Construction firm RAMKY-ECI (JV) donated two ambulances to the Dimapur Traffic Police as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative on July 23.

According to an update from the DIPR, the ambulances were handed over during a function conducted at the Commissioner of Police’s (CP) office in Dimapur, wherein the CP Rothihu Tetseo expressed gratitude to the company on behalf of the unit, the DGP and the State Government. Tetseo said that the ambulances were an immediate and most important requirement especially in the highways owing to occurrence of accidents.

The two ambulances, costing Rs 20 lakh, will be at the disposal of Traffic Police and would be used specially for catering to the needs of the accident victims both in the National Highway and town areas and will not be misused, Rothihu asserted. He also assured the company that full security would be extended by the Police with regard to law and order, and criminal activities. 

ACP Traffic Zone 2 Dimapur Hentai Phom who chaired the function, noted that the availability of Ambulances would go a long way in saving lives by ensuring timely intervention and transportation of motor vehicle accident victims needing emergency medical care. He further observed that it would enhance their capability of providing emergency medical care to personnel of Dimapur Police during the COVID-19 pandemic and whenever required.

Pastor, Dimapur Police Baptist Church offered dedicatory prayer for the ambulances and all those who would be manning the vehicles. The keys of the ambulances were officially handed over to Dimapur CP and DCP Traffic Dimapur by a representative of the company, the DIPR report stated.
