Rangali Bihu celebrated at Dimapur

Dimapur, April 14 (MExN): The Assamese Community of Dimapur celebrated Rangali Bihu at Dimapur Namghar premises with great enthusiasm with P. Bendang Jamir as the chief guest. A host of public from different communities attended the celebration.   A press note stated that the Bihu Flag was hoisted by RS Paswan and Bihu dance was performed by the Namghar Husori Dal. The chief guest said that Rangali Bihu should be observed and celebrated as it was done in the past. He encouraged keeping this tradition alive among the Dimapurians as a sign of love, peace and harmony. Makhan Chetia, Chairman DNTB, spoke about the significance of Rangali Bihu, emphasizing that Bihu is such a festival, it has neither castes nor creeds, it has no color, rich or poor, young or old.

  Senior members were presented with Assamese Gamuchas as a token of love, regards and respect. The function concluded with vote of thanks from by T K Sarma, Namghar School Administrator.
