
Maligaon, April 13 (MExN): During the last financial year which ended on March 31, the overall performance of the Rangiya Division of Northeast Frontier Railway has been very commendable. Five pairs of new passenger trains were introduced during this period. A press release issued by Pranav Jyoti Sharma, CPRO/NF Railway stated that the numbers of passenger originating from Rangiya Division has also increased by 5.66% to 157.06 lakhs. Passenger earnings have also shown an increase of 11.86% in comparison to last year. The earnings from Goods section has increased by 8.50%. Other coaching earnings have also increased by 56.90%. Earnings from ticket checking have also increased by 28.05%. To provide better amenities to passenger four PRS cum UTS centres were commissioned at Tatibahar, Changsari, Azara and Dudhnoi station. 04 Nos. of Foot over Bridge were also commissioned at Khandikar, Goreswar, Khoirabari and Sripani stations in Rangiya - Rangapara North - Murkongselek section. To supply clean drinking water to passenger, iron removal plant was provided at 04 nos. stations namely Lilabari, Archipathar, Simen Chapari and Telam stations in Rangiya - Rangapara North -Murkongselek section. Mechanized cleaning of station is being done at Rangiya, Barpeta Road, Bongaigaon (‘A’ category stations) and New Bongaigaon (‘B’ category station) and Naharlagun (‘E’ category station). To ensure safe running of trains, 14 level crossing gates (05 manned and 09 unmanned) were closed in New Bongaigaon-Goalpara Town - Kamakhya section of Rangiya division. 33 nos unmanned level crossing gates were also manned during this period in the division.
