Ranji Trophy: Nagaland smell victory against Pudduchery

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 9 (MExN): Nagaland took a commanding position as they took a lead of 366 runs on Day-3 of their Plate Group-D match of the Ranji Trophy against Pudduchery being played at NCA Stadium, Dimapur on January 9.


In Nagaland’s second innings, the state team were at 185 runs losing 5 wickets. Earlier Puducherry were bowled out for 286 runs in response to Nagaland’s mammoth first inning’s score of 467 runs.


Hokaito Zhimomi who scored a ton in the first innings remained unbeaten on day 3 at 49 runs accompanied by Abrar Kazi at 42 runs.


Meanwhile, in the Cooch Behar U-19 Trophy Nagaland convincingly beat Meghalaya by 352 runs.


With this win, Nagaland has won 5 matches lost one and two more matches against Bihar (January 14 to 17) and Arunachal Pradesh (January 21 to 25) still to be played at Dimapur.
