Ranji Trophy: Sikkim trail Nagaland by 59 runs

Morung Express News Dimapur | November 12 Nagaland’s second match in the Ranji Triophy 2018-19 against Meghalaya got off to a shakey start today at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima.   Sikkim won the toss and chose to field first. Nagaland were bowled out for 179 runs in 52.5 overs   Captain Jonathan Rongsen was the top scorer putting up 86 runs off 112 balls. The other top scorers for Nagaland were Tahmeed Rahman with 33 runs and Rachit who remained unbeaten at 22 runs.   For Sikkim, Ishwar chaudary and BB Sharma were the most successful bowlers with 4 and 3 wickets each.   By the end of day one, Sikkim trailed by 59 runs having lost five wickets for 120 runs in 35 overs. Milind remains unbeaten at 78 runs for Sikkim as their top scorer.   Pawan Suyal from Nagaland displayed an impressive bowling performance, with a haul of five wickets.   Meanwhile in the Vijay Merchant U-16 Trophy, Arunachal led Nagaland by 92 runs at the end of day one.   Earlier, Nagaland won the toss and chose to field first. They restricted Meghalaya to just 119 runs, bowling them out in 39.4 overs.   However, in Nagaland’s first innings, they were bowled out for a measly 69 runs in 16.2 overs. By end of day 1, as Meghalaya took to bat for their second innings, they managed to score 42 runs losing 5 wickets in 30 overs.
