Kohima, October 18 (MExN): After a year of trial, Principal District and Sessions Judge, YM Imchen has sentenced the accused in the April 2016 Tseminyu rape case to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs.5000. The judgment which was passed on October 17 sentenced the accused Dilip Mech, a truck driver hailing from Assam for raping a minor in April last year at Tseminyu. Public Prosecutor Kathu Rengma informed that after investigation and filing of chargesheet, the trial for the case began on October 3, 2016. Of great importance is the investigation that gives strength to the trial, therefore, the Public Prosecutor also acknowledged the sincere investigation carried out by the Investigation Officer Vikuobeinuo from the Kohima Women Police Station.
