
Kohima, October 29 (MExN): The Nagaland Home Department has called for celebration of 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' on October 31 in Nagaland. The birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on October 31 is being observed as 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' every year throughout the country.
In connection with the celebration of 'Rashtriya Ekta Diwas' this year, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has written to the Chief Ministers of all the states, followed by a letter from the Cabinet Secretary also to all the Chief Secretaries.
All the AHoDs, HoDs, the Deputy Commissioners and the head of offices of the departments in the districts will make arrangements for organizing pledge taking ceremonies in their respective offices with participation of all the officers, staff and employees to mark the occasion of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on October 31.
March Pasts will be organized by the State Police to boost the sentiments of unity, integrity and security. All the Deputy Commissioners in coordination with the respective district officers of the Youth Resources and Sports Department will organize 'Run for Unity' in their respective District Headquarters involving people from all section of the society.
The Directorate of Prisons will make arrangements for holding programmes focusing on national unity and integrity of the nation in all the prisons of the state. This was stated in office memorandum issued Nagaland’s Principal Decretary and Home Commissioner Abhijit Sinha.
