Peren, October 14 (MExN): Rongmei Council Nagaland (RCN) general assembly was held with the theme “Remedial Steps against Confronting Issue” at St. Xavier College Auditorium, Jalukie on October 11 with Alan Gonmei, IAS Commissioner & Secretary, Vety & AH as chief host and Johnny Ruangmei, OSD NSDMA, Government of Nagaland as special guest.
A press release from the council stated that the first session of the assembly was chaired by Jangai Pamei, former President RCN and Namton Pamei Education & Statistics Secretary, Rongmei Council Peren (RCP) as sessional secretary. The Assembly started with an invocation by Rev. Namrong Pamei and welcome speech by Ginbonlung Kamei, President RCP followed by Presidential Address from Chingkhiulung Gonmei President RCN.
The second session was chaired by K. Nicodim and Kanpatlung Pamei as Chairman and Sessional Secretary respectively. Reports were presented by each unit presidents of RCN.
A new team of office bearers were elected for the tenure 2019-2024 with the following: Chingkhiulung Gonmei as President; Mathew Rongmei as Vice President; Kidongam Panmei as General Secretary; James Gangmei as Finance Secretary; Alin Kamson as Treasurer; and Athui Gonmei as Arts and Culture Secretary.
The remaining vacant posts will be filled during the first RCN general executive meeting.
Rev HM Gonmei, Former Executive Secretary, Rongmei Baptist Association Nagaland prayed for the newly elected RCN officer bearers.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Akhang Kamei, Adviser RCN and benediction was pronounced by Mathiuthai Gonmei, Executive Secretary RBCAN.
