Reaching Out: MDBA undertakes welfare initiatives

Mokokchung, October 9 (MExN): The Mokokchung District Bar Association (MDBA) will be celebrating its golden jubilee on November 15 on the theme ‘Reaching out.’ In commemoration of its golden jubilee, the MDBA resolved to undertake a yearlong jubilee proclamation by organising welfare programmes to reach out to the needy people.

In line with the resolution, the MDBA had an interaction with persons with disabilities on the topic ‘Rights of the Disabled Person’ at Mongsenyimti Village, Langpangkong Block on October 4, and in Chuchuyimpang Village for Ongpangkong Block and Longjang Village for Asetkong Block on October 5. They also presented 71 shawls to the needy as a jubilee gift in the three villages.

The MDBA also visited the Mokokchung District Jail on October 6 and held an interaction with the inmates on the topic ‘Rights of the Prisoners’ and presented shawls to all 69 inmates which was followed by a visitation to the Children Home at Tzumashiyong, Mokokchung where they held a programme with the children and presented the kids with gifts.

Lanusowa Pongen, Convenor, Jubilee Planning Committee and Tajungla Longkumer, Secretary, Jubilee Planning Committee, in a press note, conveyed gratitude on behalf of the MDBA to the Co-coordinator of the three blocks of CARITAS INDIA CBR, Mokokchung Nagaland, the Mokokchung District Jail authorities and the father and mother of the Children Home for their cooperation and assistance towards their cause and making the execution of the programme easier and successful.
