Reception prog for Maj. Gen. Retd David held

Chizami, April 21 (MExN): Chizami Baptist Church and the Village Council organised a reception programme for Maj. Gen. Retd David and his family at Chizami Village Council Hall on April 20.   Maj. Gen. Retd David, who had earlier served as the Post Commandant in 1985 -1987 at Chizami reminisced his fond memories of his stay at Chizami and the friendships he built with the local community amidst the tensed conflict situation during that time. He appreciated the resilience, the hospitality and love of the community in Chizami and neighboring villages, which has motivated him to revisit with his family.   Lhikhalo Akami, Head GB, in his short speech lauded the contribution of Maj. Gen. Retd David towards the local community during his short posting at Chizami.

  In an emotional reunion, both the community and the family of Maj. Gen. Retd David exchanged gifts. The programme was attended by more than 100 community members, comprising the church leaders, Village Council, Women Society, Students Union, VDB, Eastern Mission High School students, and well wishers.   The reception programme was led by K.Thopi, Pastor CBC, and invocation pronounced by Khrotso Wezah, Head Deacon CBC. Kewepelo Tsuhah, Chairman of the Village Council delivered the welcome address. The visiting team was favoured with an Indigenous melody by Tshezokhrou T. Mero and friends, a quartet by Tewalo T.Mero & friends, and students of Eastern Mission High School Chizami.
