Recoveries continue to surpass active cases 

Dimapur, September 19 (MExN): A total of 35 fresh COVID-19 cases were detected in Nagaland on Saturday.

However, recovered cases continue to surpass active cases as another 40 recovery cases were reported in the state.

Taking to Twitter, Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister S Pangnyu Phom informed that out of the new cases, 23 were from Dimapur, 10 from Kohima and two were from Zunheboto.

The addition of the new cases has taken the state's tally to 5,392, with 1,206 active cases.

Meanwhile, among the 40 patients that recovered from COVID-19, 28 of the new recovered cases were from Kohima, 10 from Dimapur and two were from Tuensang. The total number of recovered cases in the state now stands at 4,150.

While the state has reported 10 COVID-19 deaths, data from the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) stated that five other deaths were not COVID related. Another three deaths are reportedly under investigation.

A total of 21 cases have ‘migrated’, according to the IDSP data.
