Red Ribbon Club forms at Kohima College

Kohima, July 26 (MExN): In compliance to the decision taken during the workshop pertaining to HIV/AIDS for Nagaland University and the Principals of Nagaland recently, Red Ribbon Club (RRC) has been constituted at Kohima College. The nomenclature will be used as RRC-KC for public convenience. “The RCC shall hold debates, quizzes, street plays, etc. on HIV/AIDS and be a source of information and referral for HIV/AIDS issues within and without the college campus,” said the college principal C. Khalong Ao who is also the patron of this newly constituted Club.

To deal with the related issue, the following persons were elected:

Patron: Principal, Kohima College.

Co-convener- Dahil, BA Ist Year

Recorder: Khriezovonuo Rutsa, BA IInd year

Kezhalenuo Phewhuo – Class 12, Asangla Ao, Class II, Nikali Zhimo, Class II, Shikho BA IIIrd year, Evothung BA IInd year, Sachu Pojar, BA IInd year, Moa, BA IInd year, Mhademo BA Ist year, Kezha, BA Ist year and Atsopu Pfithu, BA Ist year.

The objective of the RRC is to disseminate information about HIV/AIDS through peer education, to strengthen the voluntary blood donation movement, to evolve the youth in planning and implementation and promote responsible behaviour among the youth.

Meanwhile, the new team office bearers of the Kohima College Students’ Union for the tenure 2006-07 have been elected as follows:

Chopy, Assistant  General Secretary – Razuso, Games and Sports Secretary – Kevito Peter, Assistant Games and Sports Secretary – Vilhousielie, Social and Cultural Secretary – Kedoroko, Assistant Social and Cultural Secretary – Cisakho Demo, Literary and Magazine Secretary – T. Bumpah, Assistant Literary and Magazine Secretary – Tohovi Swu and Limasenla Imsong as Girls’ Welfare Secretary.
