Refrain from going to riverside: DC Dimapur urges public

Dimapur, August 9 (MExN): In view of ‘probability of flash floods and rising water levels’ of rivers and streams across the district due to heavy rainfall, the Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan has urged the general public to refrain from going to the riverside for fishing, picnic or any water related activities.

The DC, who heads the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Dimapur, in this connection, has requested all the villages along the river banks and the concerned village councils to prohibit such activities till the end of this monsoon season.

This is for strict compliance to all concerned, the DC stated in an advisory.
