CTC relief committee formed

Dimapur, March 7 (MExN): The Chumukedima Town Council (CTC) has constituted a relief committee in order to coordinate and supervise the relief works of the accidental fire incident that took place on the night of March 6 at Chumukedima town. The members of the committee are P Beituo Hama, CTC – 9436079986, Kelenguzo Kuotsu, head GB, Chumukedima town – 9436433371, Neikholie Shuya – 9436014861, Ali Akbar – 9436014649 and Zubenthung Humtsoe – 9612445629. The CTC in a press note issued by its chief advisor Thepfuhoutuo Shuya has requested the public and NGOs to contribute either in cash or kind for the unfortunate fire victims on or before March 9. Individuals may contact and contribute through the relief committee.

KNSK, Kohima unit request

Kohima, March 7 (MExN): The Konyak Nyupuh Sheko Khong (KNSK), Kohima unit has requested all the guardians and families in Kohima who are keeping children belonging to Konyak tribe at their homes as domestic help to send them back to their respective places immediately without delay. “This step was taken in views of the prevailing situations which includes; killing of innocent people, committing crimes, human trafficking and the rise in missing children,” a release received here said today. The release also added that the KNSK will not be held responsible nor will be answerable about whom they do not have any detail information of when the problems comes up. Further, KNSK, Kohima Unit, cautioned those families and brokers who fail to do so to take the responsibility at their own risk when situation arises.

Excise department conducts raid

Kohima, March 7 (MExN): The excise department under the superintendent of excise Phek conducted a combine surprise raid in and around Phek Town, Pfutsero and Meluri Sub Division from March 2 to 4 headed by Inspector of Excise Pfutsero H. Berimong, Neikalo, head constable Pfutsero, Khriesizo H/C Phek and P.R. Marak, H/C Meluri. The raiding party seized 63 bottles of IMFL and ten accused persons were booked under the NLTP Act. The department said that such combine checking would be conducted very often.
