'No water supply’

Dimapur, March 8 (MExN):
The executive engineer of PHED, urban division, Dimapur has informed in a press note to the water supply consumers under Dimapur town and Chumukedima areas that the water supply will be disrupted due to repair of main pipeline with effect from March 7 till the work is completed. The inconvenience is regretted.

Three discharged

Dimapur, March 8 (MExN):
The Government of the Peoples Republic of Nagalim, office of the 'ministry of kilo affairs' has discharged three national workers including T. Ashai, M. Ningthou and R. Kiran from Komrem Region on medical ground. A press release issued by L.V. Amar, 'dy. secretary', MKA, GPRN stated that pursuant to the recommendation of the CAO, Komrem Region, on March 3 and subsequent approval by the concerned authorities, the office issues discharge order on March 7. The government has acknowledged their service to the nation and wishes them successful life in the days to come.

CCSU bans hunting

Dimapur, March 8 (MExN):
The Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU) has banned all activities of hunting such as killing animals and birds, carrying of guns (intended for hunting) etc. within its jurisdiction w.e.f. March 1 to October 31, 2011. While informing this in a press release CCSU, Press & Information Secretary, I. Tochi said that as per the said resolution, the defaulters shall be imposed a fine of rupees 5000. The CCSU has taken this step to control unprecedented killings of wildlife animals and birds during the breeding season..

‘Gutkha’ banned

Dimapur, March 8 (MExN):
Taking serious note on the excess sale of abusive substances in and around Zunheboto town, the Zunheboto Range Students’ Union (ZRSU) held a meeting after meticulously deliberating the issue it was found that tobacco products are sold randomly even to the minor specially to  students. To curb "this anti-social element and to prevent the use of tobacco products" by minor students, society and general, the union unanimously resolved to impose ban on sale of ‘gutkha’ items within its jurisdiction, stated the president Khuketo Yepthomi in a press note. It also stated that the union resolved to initiate strict action to those if found trading the banned items – Tez, Talab, Raja Mix etc. to ensure full implementation of the resolution. The union will conduct surprise checking from time to time.

Free health camp on Mar 26 at Mon

Dimapur, March 8 (MExN):
Zion Hospital & Research Center Dimapur Nagaland is conducting a free multispecialty health camp on March 26, 2011 at Civil Hospital, Mon town. A press note issued by Medical Superintend, ZHRC informed that a team of specialists from the following departments will be participating: Pediatric Surgery, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, General Medicine, Dermatology, Obstetrics & Gynecology and Anesthesiology. The following procedures/activities will be carried out by the team: Specialized Outpatient Consultations, Endoscopy, Electrocardiography, Blood/urine and other Pathological tests, major/minor surgeries, free medicine distribution, and free Hepatitis B & C screening.
