
NNC meet on June 3
Dimapur, May 25 (MExN): The NNC in a meeting with Central authority decided to convene the NNC Meeting at Lotha Region on June 3, to discuss the matter related to the prevailing situation and to resolve firmly and urgently for the best interest of NNC and the people. The NNC also decided to take further step for the Naga National interest and permanent peace in the Homeland. In addition, the Central Executive Council will take the best step in furtherance of National cause and the NNC President related issues. The Naga National interest is important, above everything else, that may be differences of political stand, and leadership related issues in the Homeland. Therefore, the NNC called all CEC members, senior leaders, NNC members, Women federation NNC, Naga Army, invitees and all concerned to attend the NNC Meeting as mentioned above at 10:00 am. Opium seized
Kohima, May 25 (MExN): The personnel of State Police Narcotic Cell PS while conducting checking on trafficking of drugs at Chumukedima check gate on May 22 has detected and sezied approximately 1 kg of Opium worth approximately Rs. 30 lakhs in the market from the possession of Maya Chetri, w/o Bhim Chetri, vill/PO/PS Siliguri, Dist: Siliguri, PA: Siliguri, who was travelling in a vehicle MN03-W-0534 (passenger bound taxi) from Imphal to Dimapur. A release received here said that the accused has been formally arrested and forwarded to judicial custody for completing the investigation.
Water supply scheme inaugurated
Dimapur, May 25 (MExN): The 20 Assam Rifles under aegis of 5 Sect under IGAR (N) living up to the motto of Assam Rifles “The Friends of North East People” continued its effort to bring succor to the inhabitants of Zubza by constructing and inaugurating a water supply scheme at Kheru Nala. According to the villagers, the water supply system will be of immense use to the villagers particularly during summers. This will be used extensively both in monsoons and summer. Sacha, the GB and other village authority, expressed their gratitude on behalf of all the villagers to the Commandant and Assam Rifles for taking on this project for the village which was a long pending requirement and will be of great use, informed the AR in a press note.
Dmr Tsungiki Ekhung meet on May 28
Dimapur, May 25 (MExN): The Dimapur Tsungiki Ekhung has informed that there will be an emergency meeting on May 28 at 8:30 am at Ranandphen Ki Court Junction. DTE secretary S. Longtsuthung Kikon in a press release has requested all the members to attend the meeting with DTE membership fee of Rs 200 for the year 2011.
DATK/DAAU meet on May 28
Dimapur, May 25 (MExN): The Dimapur Agünato Tokukujomi Kuposhukulu (Dimapur Agünato Area Union) general meeting will be held on May 28 at 1:00 pm at circuit house, Dimapur to deliberate on various issues concerning the Union including the election or selection of its office bearers, executive members and a committee on its constitution drafting. The Union secretary (Ad Hoc) Hukavi T. Yepthomi in a press release also informed that the meeting shall discuss and finalise the eligibility and fee structure of its membership. Therefore, al the members from Nihoshe (South) to Khumishi or from Khumishi to Nihoshe (South) villages are requested to come prepared accordingly without fail. The Union has further notified that no personal calling letter or intimation shall be served for this meeting.
Appeal to NET/JRF Co-ordinator NU
Dimapur, May 25 (MExN): Four NET aspirants have appealed to the NET/JRF Co-ordinator, Nagaland University to change the NET Examination centre.
In a press note issued by Zhokusheyi Rhakho, David Konyak, Bendangsunep and Vesuyi Tetse-o stated the usual norm is to conduct NET/JRF Exam at Kohima or Dimapur, this year the same has been purported to be held in Mokokchung, which would inevitably cause unimaginable inconveniences to thousands of aspiring students, jeopardizing their career.
Expressing their discontentment, they also stated: “…to conduct the lone Central Examination in a remote outskirt would tantamount to gross irresponsibility on the part of the authorities which should be conducted in Kohima or Dimapur which is accessible to most. If at all centre at other places is necessary, it should be held simultaneously along with centre at Kohima or Dimapur and not otherwise. Therefore, the concern authorities are strongly urged to reconsider their decision for the convenience and greater interest of the aspiring students as a whole. (sic)”
NPF Peren division informs
Dimapur, May 25 (MExN): The president of NPF Peren Division Dennis Elunglung, has welcomed all the persons and group who are willing to join the NPF party in the division. “While doing so requested all the willing one to kindly rooted through their respective village unit, and town ward respectively for better understanding and smooth functioning of the party, the undersign on behalf of the party functionaries also make a humble appeal to all the joining members to cooperate in this regard (sic),” stated the president in a press note.
He also appealed the unit office bearers to accept the members with all respect and forward the same to the respective A/Cs, and the A/Cs are requested to forward the same to the Division office for final approval.
The president further directed both 6th tenning A/Cs and 7 Peren A/Cs to go for primary member drive and for awarding active membership to the deserving leaders and party workers. Action taken in this regard may kindly intimate to the Division office as early as possible.
