NMA laments over rape incidents

Dimapur, January 18 (MExN):
The Naga Mothers Association(NMA) has stated that it is pained at seeing the recurrence of rape incidents all occurring within the past few days in Phek ,Mon and Dimapur. Lamenting over the incidents, the NMA in a press note issued by its president Abei-u Meru and secretary Lochumbeni Humtsoe stated: “How long shall we tolerate such “savage act” in our society? Who is responsible? Its time that we all ponder seriously. Just a word of condemnation is not serving any purpose. Even physically challenged person is not spared. It’s a shame that women are used as objects.” The NMA while expressing condemnation and resentment over all these incidents strongly has appealed to all responsible citizens to respect and recognize women as co-workers in all aspects and urged the law enforcing agencies to award the "severest punishment and not to grant bail".

DGU condemns rape

Dimapur, January 18 (MExN):
The Dimapur Gorkha Union (DGU) has strongly condemned the rape of an unsound girl in Dimapur district by two Napali man and another immigrant. The union in a condemnation note issued by its chairman Kumar Subba and finance secretary Sanjay Pandey stated that the accused should be awarded highest punishment as per the law of the land. The union also condemns all such rape of minors prevailing in Nagaland. The DSU shall participate and extend all possible help to eradicate this evil of rape in the society from Nagaland.

Home coming revival hour at Pughoboto

Kohima, January 18 (MExN):
The Sumi Aphuyemi of politician, government servant, contractor/supplier, business, public leader, public, national workers, students, NCRC, Roman Catholic, AG and the Baptist have been requested to attend the home coming revival hour from January 28 to 30 at Pughoboto town. “This will be great event hour for individual, family and Aphuyemi to ask God’s forgiveness for our sins,” a release received here said today. Rev. Lanu Longchar and Rev. Inaho G. Swu will be the speakers. This was stated in a release issued by Rev. Kiyeto G. Sema, executive secretary SABAK, Pughoboto and Rev. Hotokhu P. Zhimomi, co-ordinator, SAHCRH.

Sr SP informs on arms license

Dimapur, January 18 (MExN):
The senior superintendent of police, Wokha has informed in a press note that as per the direction issued by the “Home Department, Police ‘B’ Branch vide letter No ACS (H)NL-1/MISC/2005 (PT) Dated Kohima the 30th Nov. 2010, verified genuine arms license except prohibited bore licenses, will be released to the respective holders from the office of the superintendent of police Wokha from January 27 during office hours”. Individuals who have submitted their arms license for verification to SIT (Arms verification) are directed to bring their original receipts issued while submitting their arms licenses for verification.
