GOC,3 corps greets on R-Day

Dimapur, January 25 (MExN):
On the occasion of Republic Day 2011, Lt Gen NK Singh,UYSM,AVSM,VSM, GOC 3 Corps,  has conveyed his greetings and best wishes to all the people of Nagaland and all  the ranks of security forces.  “Over the years Armed Forces along with the people and various Government agencies have worked together  for overall growth and development of the region. On this solemn and auspicious occasion of the Republic Day GOC prays for successful accomplishment of the aspirations of Peace and Development in all the states of North East India,” stated the greeting message issued by Major Vallari Joshi media officer, HQ 3 CORPS.

Citizens of Khm invited to Republic Day

Dimapur, January 25 (MExN):
The State chief secretary Lathara through a circular has extended invitation to all citizens of Kohima to witness the Republic Day Parade at 9:00 am n January 26 at Secretariat Plaza. Five contingents each from village guard and NCC boys and girls, in addition to the security forces and police will be participating followed by mass band display by Nagaland police, AR and VG. Winner of the “MTV Rock On 2010” Divine Connection will be performing. In the evening at 2:30 pm, there will be a football exhibition match between the Secretariat Team, captained by the Chief Secretary and the HOD team captained by the DGP. Also all government officials in Kohima are reminded that it is their duty to the governmnet and the nation to participate in the Republic day function.  

SJHSRS alumni mourns

Dimapur, January 25 (MExN):
The Alumni Association St John Higher Secondary Residential School, Dimapur has mourned the demise of its member Arnok Imdong who died on January 23 evening in a car crash. The association in a condolence note stated: “The tragic news of Arnok’s demise left us in shock. We still cannot believe that he is no more in our midst.” It has also conveyed its condolence to the bereaved family members and has prayed to God for the departed soul to rest in peace.

ICAR-State govt interface meeting on February 4

Dimapur, January 25 (MExN):
An interface meeting is being organized where ICAR and State Departments of Agriculture and allied sectors Government of Nagaland will participate to bring out synergy between ICAR and Nagaland Government for overall development of agri. and allied sectors in Nagaland. The meeting will be held in NRC Mithun, Jharnapani on February 4, 10:00 am. A press note issued by Chandan Rajkhowa, Director, NRC on Mithun informed that Secy., DARE & DG, ICAR, Dr. S. Ayyappan along with Deputy Director General and assistant director general of different divisions of ICAR headquarter will attend the meeting. Senior level scientists including Director of ICAR institutes located in North East and Eastern region and high officials from Department of Agriculture, Horticulture, AH. & Vety. and Fisheries, Government of Nagaland will also participate in the meeting. The note further mentioned that in the inaugural session, Minister of Planning, A.H. & Vety., T. R. Zeliang will grace the occasion as chief guest and Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Chumben Murry as guest of honour.
