Mon, July 20 (MExN): The Mopong Hongkong Public Forum (MHPF) has appealed the Government of Nagaland to reinstate the post of EAC Mopong which is currently under SDO (Civil) Angjangyang, to Tobu ADC administrative headquarter.
In a press release on July 20, the forum President, Neangba Konyak and Vice-President, A Yangkon Konyak said that the state government had transferred the post in 2014 without consulting the area public.
Earlier in the year, the public leaders and citizens of Mopong Hongkong range under Mon district had also issued an ultimatum to the government, stating that it would boycott the Republic Day celebrations if the post was not reinstated.
However, it said that the proposed boycott was called off following verbal assurance given by the government.
As such, the MHPF reminded the state government to rectify the same and retain the EAC Mopong circle which covers 12 villages under Tobu ADC.
