The Pochury Public Forum (PPF), Pochury Students Union (PSU), Pochury Mothers Association (PMA) and Pochury G.B’s Forum (PGBF) is constrained to issue this press statement to clarify to the general public of 20th A/C Meluri and humbly appeal to NSCN (IM) higher authority for kind intervention; that the press statement issued by Pochury organizations which was termed as ‘baseless’, by CAO NSCN (IM) Pochury Region is totally ‘false’. The general public of certain villages who were force to vote for a particular candidate are witness to the press statement issued by Pochury organizations o 19th Feb. 2013, which appeared in some local dailies.
The Pochury frontal organizations stating that the NSCN (IM) functionaries are very much involving in h ensuing state general election in 20th A/C Meluri; basing on the evidence, that the armed cadre of NSCN (IM) on 17th Feb.2013 under the command of Lt.Col.Jackson had arrested the village leaders of Akhken village and Kanjen village who were taken to Reguri village but later on released as with the intervention of NGOs and Reguri women society. It is clear that even at present some armed cadre of NSCN (IM) are stationed in certain villages, in which they are convening forceful meetings with village leaders to vote for a particular candidate.
It is to make known to the general public of 20th A/C Meluri that they should not be a victim of false threat and influence of armed cadre as the co-convener. PAC of NSCN-GPRN (IM) “has resolved not to support any political parties in the forthcoming state general election in order to pave way for free and fair poll.”
Meanwhile, the Pochury Frontal Organization warned the intending candidate of 20th A/C Meluri not to use any factional force in the ensuing state general election. The Pochury organization also states that if any incident arises within Pochury areas with the influence of any political party or candidate, such party/parties/candidates/candidates shall be held responsible.
